What is the IBCP?

The CP is a framework of international education which incorporates the values of the International Baccalaureate into a unique programme addressing the needs of students engaged in career-related education. The programme, developed and delivered by the IB, and also available through collaborations with other providers like Pearson,, leads to further/higher education, apprenticeships or employment.

The IBCP framework is built around three interconnected elements:

  1. At least two Diploma Programme courses

  2. An IBCP core that includes Approaches to Learning, community and service, language development and a reflective project

  3. An approved career-related study (the IB has collaborated with BTEC to provide a qualification that will make students ready for work).
